For the Smash Patties:

For the Toppings:

8 slices thick-cut bacon, cooked until crispy

4 slices melt-friendly cheese (like white American, provolone, or pepper jack)

4 soft burger buns, toasted
For the Sauce (copycat burger sauce):

1/2 cup mayo

1β2 tbsp Dijon mustard

1 tbsp ketchup

1 tsp smoked paprika or chipotle powder

1 tsp pickle juice or vinegar

1. Make the Sauce

Mix all sauce ingredients in a bowl until smooth. Taste and adjust for heat/sweetness.

Set aside or chill.
2. Cook the Bacon

Fry or bake bacon until crispy. Drain on paper towels.
3. Form and Smash the Patties

Divide beef into 4β8 loosely packed balls (double smash = 2 per burger).

Heat a griddle or cast iron skillet on high.

Place beef balls on the hot surface and smash them flat with a spatula or burger press.

Season with salt & pepper.

Let them cook undisturbed for 2β3 mins to develop a crust.
4. Flip and Add Cheese

Flip patties and immediately top with cheese.

Cook another minute until cheese melts.
5. Toast the Buns

Butter and toast buns face-down in a pan until golden.
6. Assemble the Burgers

Spread the creamy sauce on the buns.

Stack two patties (if doing double smash), top with crispy bacon.

Crown it with the top bun and dig in.
