🛒 Ingredients:
1 tbsp olive oil
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, finely diced
1 green or red bell pepper, diced
2 celery stalks, diced
2–3 cloves garlic, minced (optional but flavorful)
1 tsp Cajun seasoning (or more to taste)
½ tsp paprika
½ tsp dried thyme or oregano
Salt & pepper to taste
1 ½ cups cooked white rice (day-old rice works best)
2 tbsp chopped green onions (optional, for garnish)
Hot sauce or chili flakes (optional, for heat)
👨🍳 Instructions:
1. Sauté the veggies
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the onion, bell pepper, and celery. Sauté until soft (about 5–6 minutes).
Stir in garlic, cook 1 minute until fragrant.
2. Brown the beef
Add the ground beef to the skillet. Break it up with a spoon and cook until fully browned.
Drain any excess fat if needed.
3. Season it up
Sprinkle in Cajun seasoning, paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper.
Stir well to coat all the meat and veggies with that spicy goodness.
4. Add the rice
Stir in the cooked rice, breaking up any clumps.
Let everything cook together for 3–5 minutes, so the flavors meld and the rice soaks it all up.
5. Garnish & serve
Sprinkle with green onions and a dash of hot sauce if you like it spicy.
Serve hot and enjoy that bold, soulful bite!
📝 Tips:
Want it more authentic? Add chopped chicken livers or sausage for true “dirty” rice flavor.
Make it a one-pot meal by cooking the rice in the same pan after browning the beef—just add broth and simmer until done.
