Ingredients:
1 lb ground chicken
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 onion, finely diced
1 bell pepper (any color), finely diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)
1/2 cup tomato sauce
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon brown sugar (optional, for balance)
Salt and pepper to taste
4 hamburger buns, toasted
Optional toppings: sliced pickles, shredded lettuce, or a slice of cheese
Directions:
Sautรฉ the aromatics:
Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and bell pepper and sautรฉ for 3โ€“4 minutes until softened. Stir in the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
Cook the chicken:
Add the ground chicken to the pan. Break it apart with a spatula and cook for about 5โ€“6 minutes, or until fully cooked and lightly browned.
Spice it up:
Stir in the Cajun seasoning, making sure it coats the chicken evenly. Let it cook for 1 minute to bring out the flavor of the spices.
Make it saucy:

Spoon the hot Cajun chicken mixture onto toasted buns. Top with your favorite extrasโ€”like crisp lettuce, pickles, or melty cheeseโ€”for extra texture and flavor.
Serve hot:
These sloppy joes are perfect with coleslaw, sweet potato fries, or a simple side salad.
