Crispy Mozzarella Sticks with Marinara Sauce & Creamy Dip

Ingredients:
– 1 lb mozzarella cheese, cut into 1-inch cubes
– 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
– 1/4 cup milk
– 1 cup all-purpose flour
– 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
– 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1 clove garlic, minced
– 1/4 teaspoon salt
– 2 eggs, beaten
– 1 jar 15 oz marinara sauce
– Oil for frying
– 1/4 cup sour cream
– 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Dipping Station: In a shallow dish, combine the flour, panko bread crumbs, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine the dry ingredients. In another shallow bowl, whisk together the beaten eggs and milk until smooth.
2. Coat the Cheese: Take each mozzarella cube and first dip it into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off. Next, dredge it in the flour mixture, ensuring it is thoroughly coated on all sides.
3. Heat the Oil: In a large skillet, pour enough oil to cover the bottom and heat over medium heat. The oil should be hot enough that a breadcrumb sizzles when dropped in.
4. Fry the Mozzarella Sticks: Carefully place the coated mozzarella sticks into the hot oil, frying them for 2-3 minutes on each side or until they turn a lovely golden brown and the cheese begins to melt. Avoid overcrowding the pan—work in batches if necessary. Once done, remove them from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
5. Make the Creamy Dip: In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, sour cream, chopped parsley, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Stir until all ingredients are fully combined.
6. Serve: Arrange the crispy mozzarella sticks on a serving plate. Serve them piping hot with the marinara sauce for dipping! Enjoy with the creamy dip for an extra flavor boost.
